In this course we will discuss some of the misconceptions surrounding Dry Eye. We will review the research regarding the relationship between digital device use and dry eye. Even though dry eye complaints are the most common reason people schedule eye exams nationwide there are still several misconceptions surrounding the disease and its treatment. In this course we will review the most often misunderstood areas surrounding dry eye and look at the research that allows us to declare them fact or myth.

  • To look at the evolution of the definition of dry eye from the first attempt to define it and moving forward to current day and discuss why it matters.
  • Digital devices are a big part of everyone’s typical day. We will discuss the part digital devices play in dry eye
  • There are many reasons we assume facts regarding the conditions we treat. In this course we will review some common assumptions and prove them true or false with current scientific evidence.
  • At the conclusion of this course, we will have a better understanding of dry eye today and how we can put dry eye truths to work in clinical practice tomorrow.
